Tagsüber waren wir meist in der Natur unterwegs, die Abende haben wir fast ausschließlich auf der wunderschönen, überdachten Terrasse verbracht. Ein Highlight war der Außenkamin, den wir – sobald es der Waldbrandgefahrenindex zuließ – gerne genutzt haben. Totes Holz findet man reichlich im Wald, alternativ gibt es Holz im örtlichen Supermarkt.

Direkt vom Haus gehen zwar keine ausgeschilderten Wanderwege ab, aber der umliegende Wald bietet reichlich Platz für eigene Erkundungen. Mit dem Auto ist man zudem schnell an vielen Wanderrouten. Wir konnten ein Rudel Hirsche und einen Wolf beobachten und nachts sogar ein Wolfsrudel heulen hören. Auch der Ort Steinhorst mit dem Schulmuseum und dem historischen Friedhof ist einen Besuch wert.
Ein rundum entspannender Urlaub fernab vom Tourismus – perfekt für alle, die die Natur und Stille zu schätzen wissen.
