This national monument from 1860 is beautiful and oh so beautifully sober. It stands in the middle of the Noardlike Fryske Wâlden, the beautiful coulisse landscape. Since 2021 we have lived in this farmhouse with our three young children. In the back of the 'pleats' we have built two little houses with our own hands: 'the ko' and 'it skiep'. As you enter, you see the stables on one side and the cottages on the other. The "ko" is a cozy room of 40m2, is fully equipped and offers privacy. Private entrance. Welcome with coffee/tea and something typical Frysk. Kitchen: with inventory, oven, stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and kitchen textiles. Private bathroom: toilet, bathtub, rain shower, hair dryer, towels, shower gel and shampoo. Lovely electrically adjustable bed with luxury mattresses. Terrace and various seats overlooking the meadows. Ipad (instead of TV) with internet and streaming possibilities. Seat with sofa. Lime-free water. Breakfast can be booked in consultation: €12.50 pp. Beautifully adjustable lighting.
Nature and surroundings
You can enjoy hiking and cycling in the area. The beach (Bergumermeer) with catering facilities is 3 km away from the b&b. Other activities in the area: -sauna Leeuwerikhoeve in Burgum -indoor-& outdoor park -korenmolen 'De Hoop' -skûtsjemuseum -boat rental -national park 'De Alde Feannen' -Scherjons klompenmakerij & klompenmuseum fierljeppolder & fierljepmuseum Sumar is located approximately in the middle of the triangle of three large Frisian towns/cities: Drachten, Dokkum, Leeuwarden. Burgum is 4 km away from the b&b. Burgum has many stores.
