Need to completely unwind? Then leave our current hectic world and travel 65 years back in time. Experience the peace that was so common then. Enjoy the fresh air and the sheep in your backyard. In a part of an outbuilding near our house an apartment has been created, in which it is possible to (re)experience those good old days. Everything is decorated entirely in the style of those days. You can even read a newspaper from 1946! Enjoy the peace, space and nostalgia! Of course there are concessions. On the ground floor there is a very cozy living room/kitchen, a toilet and a shower. From the living room you enter your garden with terrace facing south and west. So every evening a sunset. On the second floor is the bedroom with sink. There is a lockable bike shed with electricity. There are also 2 basic bikes with gears available. (Free of charge)
Nature and surroundings
Our cottage is on the outskirts of Tricht, a Betuwe village on the Linge, in the middle of the fruit garden of NL. Geldermalsen train station is 2 km away. A great base for biking and/or hiking all year round. Also try a klompenpad! This area is also popular with birdwatchers and canoeists. A stone's throw away is the Mariënwaerdt estate. Want to sniff out some culture? Fun places to visit are: Buren, Beesd, Acquoy, Gellicum, Asperen, Wijk bij Duurstede and Culemborg. Do you like dikes and river scenery? Then you can't find a better place! You are between the rivers Linge, Lek and Waal. In this area you can visit many forts of the Dutch Waterline, and in the spring you can enjoy the beautiful blossoms here. Also visit a nice flower or fruit picking garden. Along the way, buy your own vegetables, fruit and eggs from one of the many farms in the area. So even if the weather is not so good there is plenty to do!
