The Werde castle cottages are former outbuildings at the entrance to the Werde castle grounds. Just outside the village of Matzenheim, the hamlet of Werde comprises 15 houses and a castle! The cottages are 2 outbuildings of the castle. They face the park. Easy parking along the castle wall (public parking area). 2 cottages can be accessed by code. Each cottage is about 50 m², with a terrace, a living room with kitchen, a separate toilet, a shower room and a beautiful bedroom. These 2 cottages have been completely redone/renovated/rebuilt in 2022/2023. Officially rated 3 stars.
Nature and surroundings
Matzenheim is well served by the motorway. The Château is at the other end of the village. The hamlet of Werde is on its own. But there's easy access to Strasbourg (to the north), Colmar (to the south), Germany (to the east) and the Vosges wine route (to the west). A holiday in the heart of nature.

Huisje een 8 / informatie en houding verhuurder (info en lawaai maken) een 4Landlord: no information sent about codes access cottage. We were in front of a closed door and had to find a phone number via complicated search to reach the man. No information or contact upon departure either. on the second day: landlord goes with noisy electric hedge trimmer to trim hedges for a long time, comes near and then says "oh I didn't realize you were there". Then just continues work. on the third day: child landlord goes on noisy riding lawn mower for a long time mowing the adjacent lawn. No notification or question if it is ok. this makes the predicate nature house perhaps a bit strange....

op de tweede dag: verhuurder gaat met lawaaige elektrische heggenschaar langdurig heggen snoeien, komt in de buurt en zegt dan "oh ik had niet door dat jullie er waren". Gaat vervolgens gewoon door met werkzaamheden.
op de derde dag: kind verhuurder gaat op luidruchtige zitmaaimachine langdurig het aangelegen grasveld maaien. Geen melding of vraag of het ok is.
