Take some time to unwind in nature. Tucked away behind our orchard is this nature house. It’s built from eco-friendly, sustainably sourced domestic and European wood. It has a unique atmosphere all its own. From here, you can look out over the meadows and orchard on our property. The nature house is suitable for up to two people. Inside this eco-house, you’ll find a cozy box bed with a double bed, and it offers plenty of living space. A large, fully equipped shared kitchen is centrally located on our property. The restroom facilities are also located there. We also offer other unique lodging options, such as two treehouses and a small chapel. Please bring your own (bath) towels. There is a wood-fired sauna (€25/hour) on the property; please discuss the options with the owner on the day of arrival.
Nature and surroundings
For lovers of culture, history, peace, and open spaces, the home base is centrally located between the Frisian Eleven Cities of Bolsward, Sneek, Leeuwarden, and Franeker. Just a 2-kilometer walk, bike ride, or boat trip away lies the picturesque village of Easterein, where the medieval church and the Frisian (film) café/restaurant are well worth a visit. You’ll quickly be impressed by the beautiful farms, picturesque meadows, and waterways. To enjoy these waterways, canoes are available for rent on-site. Terherne, where the Kameleon children’s books come to life, is easily accessible from this location. A visit to the various Frisian Eleven Cities in the area is well worth the trip. For example, Franeker has the oldest working planetarium in the world, which is open to the public. The port city of Harlingen, where the ferries to Terschelling and Vlieland depart, is full of cozy little fishing cafes. Bolsward, with its beautiful town hall and canals, is also just a stone’s throw away
