I’ve had this beautiful traditional Kirzychstan yurt, with a diameter of 5.25 meters, for over 10 years. It stands on a solid foundation on our association’s grounds, nestled among the oak trees with a stunning view of the Colissen landscape. In the summer, these oak trees provide just enough shade, and a pleasant summer breeze blows through from time to time. Inside, there’s a small kitchen with hot and cold water and one good cooler; outside, there’s a dry toilet and an outdoor shower for the summer. A comfortable bed—a separable Auping set measuring 200 cm x 160 cm (2 x 80 cm)—offers a wonderful night’s sleep. There’s also a cot with a comfortable mattress. The solar panels provide 230V power, which is sufficient for lighting and charging a computer or phone. There’s a desk and a spacious dining table. You can park your car up to 10 meters from the yurt, and there are several other parking spots available. Our clubhouse, located about 150 meters away, has a washing machine, dryer, large shower, electricity, internet, kitchen, freezer, etc.
Nature and surroundings
The yurt is located on a 6-hectare private property on the border of Aveyron and Tarn-et-Garonne. This hilly, rolling farmland landscape is ideal for hiking and biking. Virtually undiscovered by tourists, it’s very peaceful here, but in the nearby villages and towns—such as Najac, Cordes-sur-Ciel, St. Antonin, Caylus, Bruniquel, and others—there are always all kinds of festivities in the summer. From the property, you can descend directly into the valley of the “La Baye” stream, where you’ll find yourself in another enchanting world, left to nature’s whims. The valley has always served as a refuge in times of war and for the Cathars. You’ll feel as if you’ve stepped onto the set of *The Lord of the Rings*. By car, it’s a 10-minute drive from the yurt to a small reservoir measuring about 50 x 120 meters. This is a fantastic natural swimming spot for swimming enthusiasts or your dog.
