In The Betuwe, Gelderland province in the quiet area of Ophemert on a dead end road is a special nature house (34m2) At our converted monumental farmhouse from 1850 with haystack on a plot of 3.2 ha we have a beautiful guest house for 2 people. It is connected on 1 side to the horse stables and has a view of the adjacent nature reserve De Steendert. The apartment is modern and equipped with a bathroom with walk-in shower, a kitchen with induction hob, refrigerator, microwave/oven and Nespresso machine. A double bed of 180x210. Our private property consists of garden, meadows and an old tall-stemmed orchard. The orchard is a nursery of many bird species. The tawny owl has its nest in an old hollow apple tree, the little owl lays its eggs in a special nesting box. Also nesting here are the green woodpecker, the spotted woodpecker, the white wagtail and the wren From mid-April the barn swallows arrive from Africa and lay eggs in the existing nests in the various outbuildings. In the adjacent nature reserve De Steendert you can walk and bird watch. From 1 km away you can walk and stroll endlessly in the Stiftsche and Heesseltsche floodplains, nature reserves along the river Waal. Part of it is Landgoed Waardenburg and Neerijnen with as many as 300 wild plant species. You can also visit Castle Garden Neerijnen and the Stroomhuis here.
