It is connected on 1 side to the horse stables and has a view of the adjacent nature reserve De Steendert. The tawny owl has its nest in an old hollow apple tree, the little owl lays its eggs in a special nesting box. From mid-April the barn swallows arrive from Africa and lay their eggs in the existing nests in the various outbuildings. In the adjacent nature reserve De Steendert you can walk and bird watch. We had a wonderful stay in Ophemert. The cottage is small but had everything we needed such as a good bathroom and well equipped kitchen.
