Nature house in Boyaval

The cottage is very comfortably furnished. It’s equipped with salt, pepper, coffee, tea (but no teapot), shampoo, shower gel, soap, an ironing board, an iron, a small drying rack, games for all ages, and brochures about the area.
The bathroom is upstairs; the bedrooms are separated only by a sliding door and a curtain, respectively.
We didn’t find the washing machine mentioned in the description on nature house.nl, and we didn’t ask the hostess to do any laundry for us.
Wi-Fi coverage is limited; there is an internet connection for an Ethernet cable upstairs near the desk.
The hostess welcomes you and gives you a tour of the cottage; after that, she can be reached via the app or WhatsApp if needed.

Het huisje is heel prettig ingericht. Voorzien van peper, zout, koffie, thee (maar géén theepot), shampoo, douchecrème, zeep, strijkplank, strijkbout, klein wasrekje, spelletjes voor elke leeftijd en brochures over de omgeving.
Toilet is boven, de slaapkamers zijn alleen gescheiden door een schuifdeur, respectievelijk een gordijn.
De wasmachine uit de beschrijving op natuurhuisje.nl hebben we niet aangetroffen, we hebben madame niet gevraagd om iets voor ons te wassen.
WiFi bereik is beperkt, boven bij de werktafel is een internetaansluiting voor een netwerkkabel.
Gastvrouw ontvangt en leidt rond in het huisje en is daarna zo nodig via de app of whatsapp bereikbaar.

A wonderfully peaceful spot—you can walk right from the street into nature. The three of us had a wonderful week there.

Heerlijk rustig plekje, je loopt zo vanuit de straat de natuur in. We hebben met ons drieën een heerlijke week gehad.

A very nice, clean little house. In a very quiet location. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Very friendly people, too. Communication was smooth, and they always responded quickly to our questions.

Heel mooi proper huisje. Heel rustig gelegen. Hebben erg genoten van de rust. Heel vriendelijke mensen ook. Vlotte communicatie en steeds snel met reageren op vragen.

I spoke with the owners. An enthusiastic, friendly couple who bought a ruin fifteen years ago (an old farmhouse with barns?). In any case, they have completely renovated it with heart and soul themselves and you experience that. The cottage itself is in fine condition, has atmosphere, furnished with all the comforts you want. Spacious, at least for two people. For four people, I think also fine. For six people is also possible. A garden, which is well cared for. Pleasant to stay, pleasant to live in. There is no mosquito netting anywhere, and although we had no mosquitoes here in early September, with temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees, I did close the windows at dusk, just to be sure. And they stayed shut all night. There is wifi, with which you can access the Internet, but the signal is quite weak, but that was not an issue for us.

Ik heb met de eigenaren gesproken. Een enthousiast, vriendelijk echtpaar dat vijftien jaar geleden een ruïne gekocht hebben (een oude boerderij met schuren?). In ieder geval, ze hebben het met hart en ziel zelf helemaal gerenoveerd en dat ervaar je ook. Het huisje zelf is in prima staat, heeft sfeer, ingericht met alle gemakken die je wil hebben. Ruim, in ieder geval voor twee personen. Voor vier personen, denk ik ook prima. Voor zes personen kan ook nog. Een tuin, die goed verzorgd is. Prettig om te verblijven, prettig om te wonen. Er is nergens muskietengaas, en hoewel wij hier begin september geen last van muggen hadden, met temperaturen tussen de 25 en 30 graden, deed ik voor de zekerheid de ramen bij het invallen van de duisternis wel dicht. En die bleven de hele nacht dan ook dicht. Er is wifi, daarmee kun je het internet op, maar dat signaal is vrij zwak, maar dat was voor ons geen punt.

A wonderful, peaceful environment. I heard wind, I heard birds, I heard the owl calling at night. I heard no cars, I heard no planes, I heard no engines. It was quiet, very quiet, very quiet. A gentle, hilly area with fields, meadows, some forest, some trees and woods. And the cottage itself is in a valley, on a dead-end road in a small, lovely, almost extinct village of only 183 inhabitants. And from there it is pleasant walking.

Een heerlijke, rustige omgeving. Ik hoorde wind, ik hoorde vogels, ik hoorde 's nachts de uil roepen. Ik heb geen auto's gehoord, ik heb geen vliegtuigen gehoord, ik heb geen motoren gehoord. Het was stil, heel erg rustig, heel erg stil. Een zacht, heuvelachtig gebied met akkers, weiden, wat bos, ook wel wat bomen en bossen. En het huisje zelf ligt in een dal, aan een doodlopend weggetje in een klein, lieflijk, vrijwel uitgestorven dorpje van slechts 183 inwoners. En van daaruit is het prettig wandelen.
