This off grid Cabin is located in a hidden spot in one of the many nature domains managed by the Kempens Landscape, specifically the Domain of the Franciscan Sisters. Guests can wander all over the Franscicanessen property but should note that the wider domain is also open to the public and a stray hiker. This unique accommodation offers guests the chance to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in nature. This 32m2 cabin contains only sustainable materials and has large windows that offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Inside, guests will find a cozy and comfortable living space complete with a wood stove, a fully equipped kitchenette, a comfortable double bed and a stylish bathroom with a hot shower. This Cabin is the perfect destination for those looking for a peaceful retreat and a chance to reconnect with nature.
Nature and surroundings
Barely 20 minutes from Antwerp city center yet in the middle of nature. Here you slow down surrounded by lush forests, charming farms and winding country roads. Here you wake up with the sun on the window, the smell of awakening greenery and the magical spectacle of singing birds. This cabin is on the edge of a vast nature park. Also not far away is the Kalmthoutse Heide, one of the oldest and largest nature reserves in Flanders. This nature reserve is a rare remnant of the once vast European heath landscape. You can discover the rich and rare fauna and flora through numerous beautiful hiking and cycling routes. De Kempen also hides many hidden gems, such as castle tours, mystery trails full of folk tales and historic smuggling trails across the border. In the evening you can relax by a fire while the sun sets over the fields. PS: during dry summer days we ask you to be extra frugal with water use (max.2 min shower p/day)
