The Gite is located in the hamlet of La Cornette, a typical Ardennes village with about twenty houses. It is located on a property of 3 hectares with two houses. There is a 500 m2 garden with a playground, 2 terraces, a ping-pong table and a bbq. Through the property runs the stream Les Aleines, which flows into the Semois river 3 km away. The entire property is characterized by meadows, forest and indigenous wild gardens. Hiking and mbt routes pass by the property. The cottage itself dates from the 18th century and was renovated in 2021 while retaining its Ardennes character. There are 4 bedrooms. To reach the 4° bedroom, however, you must pass through the staircase through the 3° bedroom. La Cornette is located about 10 km from Bouillon and about 10 km from Bertrix.
Nature and surroundings
The hamlet was built in a valley completely surrounded by forest. The nature lover can find a diverse range of animals, including the beaver, deer, martens, badgers, wild boar, foxes, reptiles and rare birds such as the black stork. Last year, as a first in the neighborhood, the wolf and yes, even the lynx were spotted.Through the walk "au fil de l'eau des Aleines" you will discover the fauna and flora of the region with beautiful vantage points over the stream Les Aleines and the Semois. On hot days, you can refresh yourself in this river or take a kayak trip. The area around the property is a Natura 2000 zone and, more recently, a national park called the Semois Valley.
