Nature house in Durbuy

It is quiet, which is lovely, beautiful landscape and nicely furnished. Unfortunately, the internet is not as good. Furthermore, it is better to check in around 4 o'clock. We were there at 3 h and had to wait another hour.

Het is rustig, wat heerlijk is, mooi landschap en netjes ingericht. Het internet is helaas minder goed. Verder kan je beter rond 4 u inchecken. Wij waren er om 3 u en moesten nog een uurtje wachten.

It is a neat, spacious apartment. There are anyway 2 hiking trails from the small park. One of them goes to Durbuy that is very doable.

Het is een net, ruim appartement. Er lopen sowieso 2 wandelroutes vanuit het kleinschalige park. Een daarvan gaat naar Durbuy dat is heel goed te doen.

Our plan between Christmas and O&N (heart of winter) was to walk mostly and rest inside and watch movies. The latter proved a bit more difficult. The ad states free Wi-Fi, but upon arrival it states that the available connection is only for "light, recreational use" and certainly not for streaming. There was a closed network available for our house (its name was our chalet number), but we were only allowed to use the free, public connection for the entire park. By the way, in the 7 days we were there, the network was down twice. Upon inquiry, it was indicated that it was the responsibility of the new owner, but it was fixed shortly thereafter. All in all, I had to purchase an additional internet bundle. To anyone planning to spend a few days working from the park and/or streaming content, I recommend taking this into account.

Ons was om tussen kerst en O&N (hartje winter) vooral te wandelen en binnen uit te rusten en films te kijken. Dat laatste bleek wat lastiger. Bij de advertentie staat gratis Wi-Fi, maar bij aankomst wordt aangegeven dat de beschikbare verbinding alleen voor "licht, recreatief gebruik" is en zeker niet om te streamen. Er was een gesloten netwerk beschikbaar voor ons huis (de naam ervan was ons chaletnummer), maar wij mochten alleen gebruik maken van de gratis, openbare verbinding voor het hele park. In de 7 dagen dat we er waren lag het netwerk overigens twee keer plat. Bij navraag werd aangegeven dat het de verantwoordelijkheid was van de nieuwe eigenaar, maar kort daarna was het wel gefixt. Al met al heb ik een extra internetbundel moeten bijkopen. Aan eenieder die van plan is om een paar dagen vanaf het park te werken en/of rekent te kunnen streamen hou ik aan hier rekening mee te houden.

The cottage was fine and clean, the surroundings were super. Amenities nearby, but also some nice trails to walk without having to get in the car. Some points of interest: the double bed is in fact 2x a single bed with 2x a single comforter, so if you bring your own bed linen, keep this in mind (quite awkward). For towels, it is clear that you can bring it or book extra for it, but no tea towels, oven mitts, etc. are provided either.

Het huisje was prima en schoon, de omgeving was super. Voorziening in de buurt, maar ook een aantal leuke paden om te wandelen zonder in de auto te moeten stappen.
Wat aandachtspunten: het tweepersoonsbed is in feite 2x een eenpersoonsbed met 2x een eenpersoonsdekbed, dus als je je eigen bedlinnen meeneemt, houd hier rekening mee (best onhandig). Voor handdoeken is het duidelijk dat je het mee kunt nemen of er extra voor kunt boeken, maar er worden ook geen theedoeken, ovenwanten e.d. beschikbaar gesteld.
