Warm, cozy and authentic - our nature house in Bartlehiem is an old family house full of character. The decor is eclectic: antiques, a touch of IKEA and lots of glassware. Everything breathes atmosphere and peace. The house with garden is all to yourself, perfect for couples who appreciate the charm of a personal home. The house is cozy, it is not a sleek or ultramodern vacation rental. The large garden invites you to dabble in, sit in or just enjoy the view. In September, the apple trees are full; pick or gather apples for purée or pie. Baking supplies are provided and the kitchen offers plenty of opportunities to cook together. The kitchen has a wood stove, ideal for cozy fires in the fall and winter months. A supply of wood is ready. The house offers peace, space and freedom. For a boat trip, a walk along the waterfront, an afternoon in the garden or an evening by the stove.
Nature and surroundings
The house is located along the Elfsteden route. In front of the house flows the Dokkumer Ee, behind you look out over wide meadows. In wet and cold months, bring your boots to walk unhindered inside and outside the grounds. A place to slow down, watch the sun rise and set, and quietly enjoy garden, birds, water and silence. From the front door you walk, bike or sail into the Frisian landscape. The rowing boat is ready, paddles are in the bailing bucket. Swimming, rowing or gazing across the Ee feels like a small gift here. Deer are spotted here, bird lovers walk in a few minutes to Wiide Mar. Cities such as Leeuwarden and Dokkum, beautiful mounds, the Wadden, the Lauwersmeer, Grutte Wielen are accessible by car (or bicycle). Across the Ee you will find brewery Grutte Pier, take the boat. On our side is Anne-Famke's pleats for ice cream, coffee and tea. In season the little ferry, a little further on will take you to another establishment De Winze.
