Outside the village of Marcillac, near SARLAT, in the PERIGORD NOIR, DORDOGNE: Quietly located detached gite of 40 m2 for 2 persons in a 200 year old restored stone building. Layout: Independent entrance via the terrace, living/sitting room with kitchenette, toilet, corner with sink, walk-in shower, bedroom with 2 good box spring beds 80x200 cm. Amenities: Kitchenette with double sink, gas stove, fridge with freezer, microwave oven, kettle, plancha, Senseo and regular coffee maker. Living/dining area with dining table, sofa, armchair, storage closet. The cottage has thick natural stone walls, and actually stays cool in the summer. The fixed air conditioning (units in living room and bedroom) provides relief on the (very) hot summer days. Terrace with garden table and chairs, partly covered, the other part is under a 60 year old vine. You overlook a rolling meadow and the edge of the forest (here you can spot deer, foxes ...) A très bientôt!
Nature and surroundings
The PERIGORD NOIR offers many sporting activities in a green environment: Hiking, cycling and mountain biking, and canoeing/kayaking on the Dordogne or Vézère. Near the gite starts the first walking route. The immediate vicinity has a large tourist offer: Nearby is SARLAT, the charming "capital" of the Périgord Noir with beautiful weekly markets and many old houses, streets and squares. Here runs the "Voie Verte", the bike path built on the old railroad: Nice and flat, and only for cyclists and walkers ... Well known is of course MONTIGNAC with the world famous caves of LASCAUX. And in LES EYZIES, on the banks of the river Vézère, you will find numerous prehistoric sites, including the national museum of prehistory.Our gite is located in the triangle SARLAT-MONTIGNAC-LES EYZIES.Distances:SARLAT 9 km MONTIGNAC-LASCAUX 15 km LES EYZIES 19 km.BRIVE 47 km BERGERAC 73 km UTRECHT 1000 km....
