Need to get away from it all and unwind? Our 200 year old farmhouse near the Wadden coast between Harlingen and Franeker is the perfect place for that. In the Front House of the farm we have a guesthouse for 2 persons, without television but with a view over the meadows, our organic cows, birds and sometimes hares and deer. Outside there are garden chairs ready and after a sunny day you can see the most beautiful evening skies. From this place you can discover the farm, the Wadden Sea and Friesland at your own pace. The Voorhuis is an independent room with its own front door. It consists of 2 spacious rooms: - a bedroom with an extra long double bed and half open bathroom and - a living/working room with wood stove and small kitchen. Wifi, coffee and tea are available as well as wood for the wood stove.
Nature and surroundings
The farm is located on a mound 5 km from the coast with the Wadden Sea, Unesco World Heritage Site. A unique nature reserve along which you can walk and cycle. Inside the dike you can also follow the coast by car. Just think about the sheep. Want to sit somewhere, that too is possible. There are many nice places and terraces. We were kindly received and shown around by hostess Tineke. Beautiful spacious and well maintained rooms with a beautiful view. In one word; GREAT!!!
We werden vriendelijk ontvangen en rondgeleid door gastvrouw Tineke. Mooie ruime en goed onderhouden kamers met een prachtig uitzicht. In één woord; GEWELDIG!!
Beautifully furnished front house equipped with all amenities in a farmhouse over 200 years old. Useful are the cupboards in the sitting room that serve as kitchenette and pantry. In the separate bedroom there is a large double bed with a view of the vast green lands with in the background the Wadden dike (Sedyk) and the tower of Sexbierum. Behind the bed, separated by a wall, is a spacious bathroom where you can walk in from both sides. The farm is organic, which means that the cows can decide for themselves when they go outside or want to be milked (by means of a milk robot). All those cows provide a beautiful spectacle in an oasis of tranquility.
Prachtig ingericht voorhuis voorzien van alle gemakken in een boerderij van meer dan 200 jaar oud. Handig zijn de bedstedes in de zitkamer die als keukentje en provisiekast ingericht zijn. In de aparte slaapkamer staat een groot twee persoons bed vanwaaruit je zo de weidsheid van de groene landerijen inkijkt met op de achtergrond de Waddendijk (Sedyk) en de toren van Sexbierum. Achter het bed, gescheiden door een wand, is een ruime badkamer gesitueerd waar je van weerskanten kan inlopen. De boerderij is biologisch, dat betekent dat de koeien zelf kunnen bepalen wanneer zij naar buiten gaan of gemolken willen worden (dmv een melkrobot). Al die koeien zorgen voor een mooi schouwspel in een oase van rust.
