Nature house in Geesteren

Our spacious lodge is located in an old farm barn and can accommodate 2 people. The barn is located on the grounds of De Bisser, a working farm. After two years of renovation, our lodge was completed in the spring of 2024. Authentic features, such as the trusses and barn windows, have been preserved. The lodge consists of two floors (approx. 2x60 m²). Downstairs is the kitchen with a dining and sitting area. Adjacent to this is a separate restroom and a separate shower room with a sink. Upstairs, there is one spacious bedroom with a comfortable double bed. You can also set up your own small tent in the fruit orchard. Bedding and linens are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped: a stovetop, combination oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and electric kettle. Of course, the lodge features free Wi-Fi, a smart TV, and a stereo system. The lodge is fully insulated and gas-free. There is a charging station for electric cars on our property (for a fee).

The Achterhoek is known as an ideal area for hiking, biking, and recreation. Our lodge is the perfect base from which to explore the region. Our lodge is located on the outskirts of Geesteren (GLD). In 2017, Geesteren was named the most beautiful village in Gelderland. Along the unique “klompenpad” (clog path), the Boereneschpad, you’ll wander along unpaved, culturally and historically significant trails, farmland, and sandy paths. You’ll truly experience the peace and open spaces of the countryside. Experience the great outdoors! You’ll have your own lawn with a picnic table. Enjoy the sweeping views from your hammock. In the summer, you can enjoy our field edge with summer flowers, bees, and butterflies. Sometimes the cows from the neighboring dairy farm graze right in front of you in the herb-rich pasture. True nature lovers will appreciate a walk to and through the Natura 2000 area, Stelkampsveld. This nature reserve is part of the Beekvliet estate, just one kilometer from the lodge.
