Nature house in Akkrum

The Jister used to be the milking parlor. Now it serves as the common area for a group lodging facility right on the waterfront, featuring a bar, a large professional kitchen, and two wood stoves in the group room. You’ll sleep in the Buthus, which is an integral part of the property: 62 beds in 8 rooms, with six showers and two restrooms. There’s a shared dock on the open waterway. For gatherings, there’s room for sixty people at a table and one hundred in a theater-style setup. The beds come with a mattress cover and a pillow with a pillowcase; please bring your own comforter, comforter cover, and towels, or book them separately. School groups, families, and groups of friends love to stay here. If your group is larger, you can book additional water lodges or De Berch. Your dog is welcome, but not in the bedrooms.

You’ll be staying at our location: twelve wooden waterfront lodges and three group accommodations spread across three hectares, right next to De Alde Feanen National Park. The property is situated on the Wijde Ee. From this lake, you can boat to Grou or De Alde Feanen without crossing any bridges, and in the other direction to Akkrum and the Sneekermeer. The area is surrounded by meadows, reed beds, and canals, and you’ll mostly hear birds. Cars are parked in the central parking lot, which has six charging stations; you can walk to your cabin with a luggage cart. The grounds feature a play area, a playground, a ping-pong table, and a water slide that ends in the lake. You can rent the floating sauna in two-hour blocks, and upon request, it can be taken out onto the lake. You can rent a rowboat, canoe, or stand-up paddleboard on-site. The village and train station of Akkrum are 4 kilometers away, Grou is 10 kilometers away, and Leeuwarden is 20 kilometers away. Akkrum has held Green Key Gold certification since 2024 and is a fireworks-free zone.
