With the pool 25m away & Lac Montbel just 6km from the barn you won't need to go far to cool down. In Summer the lake plays host to a ream of activities from horse riding and tree-top adventure climbing to stand-up-paddle, kayaking & sailing. There are even pedalos for hire. Alternatively you can go wild swimming in the many local rivers and mountain lakes.It's a great way to escape the heat. The bastide town of Mirepoix is a lovely place to hang out and have a coffee and croissant or a 'pression' in the evening while the kids play with their scooters or play football in the shade of the 'Halle', the old covered market area. There are plenty of restaurants too. During the Summer there is a festival almost every weekend where the central square comes alive with stands and displays. Monday is market day so you can stock up on locally-grown produce. The Pyrenees can be seen from every room in the barn, and there are countless walks, hikes and bike rides for all levels.

Jasper August 1, 2025 General rating:Very spacious house, sleeping downstairs is nice and cool. Spacious bedrooms, bathroom with all facilities. Living area spacious, fine kitchen, lovely balcony where a breeze constantly blows over for cooling. Nice pool and more than enough to do in the vicinity. At 15 min drive from Mirepoix, where you can eat in the medieval center and enjoy the French hospitality. Very friendly and helpful owner! Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace and quiet! Also a perfect place for children!
Zeer ruime woning, beneden slapen is heerlijk koel. Ruime slaapkamers, badkamer met alle faciliteiten. Woongedeelte ruim, fijne keuken, heerlijk balkon waar continu een windje overheen waait voor verkoeling. Fijn zwembad en meer dan genoeg te doen in de nabije omgeving. Op 15 min rijden van Mirepoix, waar je in het middeleeuwse centrum heerlijk kan eten en genieten van de Franse gezelligheid.

Het is een heel ruim prachtig verbouwde oude schuur. De grote woonkamer ligt op het eerste verdiep waaraan een ruim balkon met fantastisch uitzicht, én privacy vanwege een grote boom. De keuken hebben we wat extra gepoetst want die was niet helemaal proper, verder alles prima!
Een tip: het kan wat koud zijn in het huis (dikke stenen muren) en er is een houtkachel om bij te stoken op eigen kosten. De aanwezige elektrische verwarming was matig.
Gelukkig is de eigenares Lisa, heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam en hoefden we dit keer niets voor het hout te betalen.
