The cozy cottage of over 50m2 is a lovely place to stay. It is the oldest part of the house and dates from about 1640. Because of the old, thick walls -and pierre- it is nice and cool inside in the summer. The cottage is equipped with all modern conveniences. Towels (2 x per week), bed linen and kitchen towels (2 x per week) are included in the price. About four days a week we cook in the evening a vegetarian three-course menu with as much as possible products from our vegetable garden. You can also get fresh eggs from our chickens as well as homemade jam. There is a bread service but we can also provide breakfast. We serve it at a table in the garden or in a basket at the cottage. In the garden you can use our natural swimming pond (10 meters in diameter and 2 meters deep) filtered by plants. No chlorine or salt but lovely soft clear swimming water. Of course we are LGBTQI+ friendly.
Nature and surroundings
The gîte is located on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Le Chalard. Le Chalard is at the crossroads of three departments; the Haute-Vienne, the Dordogne and the Corrèze. At 5 km you will find Parc naturel regional Perigord Vert. The Perigord Vert is still unspoiled, authentically French and hardly touristy. The area is characterized by hills, rivers, lakes and especially many green forests. You can do great walking, cycling, swimming and fishing here. Renting an electric bike is also a possibility. Take a trip and visit the castles, historical sites, caves or a nice (flea) market. In the cottage you will find a folder with all the possibilities, but feel free to ask us for advice, we are happy to help you! You can also just do nothing and enjoy our large natural garden with large swimming pond and various beautiful sitting and lounging areas. With us you can relax, be yourself and enjoy the quiet place and beautiful surroundings where we live.
