In the former bunker farmhouse (WWII) an architectural bunker has been created in the basement with its own entrance. There is a bedroom, bathroom, separate toilet, living room with a small pantry & refrigerator. Great for cooking an egg or a simple meal. In the summer it is cool, in the winter it is heated with an Infra Red panel, underfloor heating in the bathroom and some extra portable heaters, an extra blanket is necessary & nice in winter.There is no outdoor area but.... but there is a lovely sitting window facing south and right in front of the door a bum bench with the best view! see photos. There is also a large closet full of building materials, architecture books etc. If you are working on building plans and want inspiration, be sure to nose through the cabinets and books. Nature and surroundings
The apartment is located on the Cultural Estate Koningsweg on the edge of National park De Hoge Veluwe (less than 2km from entrance Schaarsbergen). On the buitenplaats there are beautiful architectural folly's built what is worth walking along and the forest starts in our back and front yard. Lovely walks everywhere. Center Arnhem can be reached by bus or by bike (7km), the bicycle route runs largely through forests and parks. Burgers zoo and open air museum are less than 5km away. Want something tasty to eat then Il Lupo within walking distance. There are several mountain bike routes for the house, Bas can tell you everything about it. There is a place to spray your bike and in the basement you can tinker with the bike if necessary (many tools available). In the field in front of our house is a (stray) bench where you have beautiful views of the sunset. In other words, a wonderful place really in the middle of nature!
