Nature house in Champsac

Funny cottage on the edge of a small lake. Nice decking, partially covered. Very quiet and at night nice and quiet and dark.

Grappig huisje aan de rand van een meertje. Mooie vlonder, gedeeltelijk overkapt. Heel rustig en s'nachts lekker stil en donker.

A quiet cottage in a beautiful region

We chose this location because of its seclusion and the possibility to fish on the veranda. Here we caught 16 beautiful carp in a few days and we were able to relax completely. Even though our car broke down completely on the second day due to a broken alternator and battery, we were still able to enjoy our vacation to the fullest because the owner took care of us and was there for us. She saved us along the road, she got groceries for us and if we needed anything we just had to ask. She also arranged an emergency job at a garage, which was not easy with our missing French language skills, so that we could return home safely after the vacation. I can honestly say that this was the most relaxing vacation in years!

Wij kozen deze locatie vanwege de afgelegenheid en de mogelijkheid om lekker te vissen aan de veranda. Hier hebben we 16 mooie karpertjes mogen vangen in een paar dagen tijd en kwamen we helemaal tot rust.
Desondanks dat de tweede dag onze auto er helemaal mee stopte door een kapotte dynamo en accu konden we als nog volop genieten van onze vakantie door dat de eigenaresse ons volledig ont zorgde en voor ons klaarstond. Ze heeft ons gered langs de weg, ze haalde boodschappen voor ons en als we wat nodig hadden hoefde we het maar te vragen. Zo heeft ze ook een spoedklus geregeld bij een garage, wat met onze missende Franse taalkennis niet heel makkelijk ging, zodat wij na de vakantie gewoon weer veilig naar huis konden gaan.
Ik kan met alle eerlijkheid zeggen dat dit de meest relaxte vakantie was in jaren!

After a long, not entirely trouble-free journey, we arrived at the campsite with our red lights. Here we were immediately greeted very kindly by the owner in Dutch after my attempt to speak flawed French. We were a few hours early but were immediately allowed into the cottage which I felt was slightly larger than expected. The cottage has all the comforts and it is really quite pleasant in terms of temperature. The bedroom did not get sweltering hot but remained a pleasant temperature so our nights did not have to suffer from the nice weather. Given the location on the water we were prepared for a storm of insects but this was really not that bad. At night with the lights on no irritating mosquitoes around you wanting to sting you all over but just a few moths and the music of the grasshoppers.

Na een lange, niet geheel probleemloze reis kwamen wij met onze rode lampjes aan op de camping. Hier werden we meteen heel vriendelijke begroet door de eigenares in het Nederlands na mijn poging om gebrekkig Frans te praten. We waren een paar uurtjes te vroeg maar mochten meteen het huisje in wat voor mijn gevoel iets groter was dan verwacht. Het huisje is in alle gemakken voorzien en het is er echt heel aangenaam qua temperatuur. De slaapkamer werd niet broeierig warm maar bleef een aangename temperatuur waardoor onze nachten niet onder het lekkere weer hoefde te leiden.
Gezien de locatie aan het water is waren we voorbereid op een storm aan insecten maar dit viel echt enorm mee. 's avonds met het licht aan geen irritante muggen om je heen die je helemaal lek willen prikken maar gewoon een paar nachtvlindertjes en de muziek van de sprinkhanen.
