Nature house in Elspeet

Nice place, but the furnishings are really in need of replacement. It does have new windows and insulation, though. The beds aren’t comfortable—I barely slept for 4 nights; the mattress is very hard, and the bed frame creaks terribly. Insect screens wouldn’t be a luxury either—I got bitten by mosquitoes. The showerhead was nice, but the floor of the cabin shower had a lot of soap scum and limescale, and it was very slippery from greasy cleaning products; this was the case throughout the entire cabin. Furthermore, there was no room in the cabinets for our own things—everything was packed to the brim, and there was a lot of knick-knacks. The surroundings are fantastic. We had also booked this cottage 6 years ago—this time it was a bit of a letdown. New owner?

Mooie plek, maar inrchting is erg toe aan vervanging. Wel nieuwe ramen en isolatie. De bedden liggen niet lekker ikzelf heb 4 nachten bijna niet geslapen matras erg hard ook het ledikant kraakt ontzettend. Ook zouden horren geen luxe zijn, lek geprikt door muggen. fijne douchekop maar op vloer in cabine zat veel zeep/kalk aanslag en was erg glad door vette schoonmaakmiddel dit was door heel het huisje. Verder geen plek in kastjes voor eigen spullen alles stond bomvol ook veel prullaria. De omgeving is fantastisch. Dit huusje hadden we 6 jaar geleden ook geboekt nu viel het wat tegen nieuwe eigenaar?

Heerlijke plek midden in de natuur met vrij uitzicht waar je de reetjes en wilde zwijnen ziet lopen als je geluk hebt. Op een kleinschalig open vakantieparkje tussen bossen en heide

In terms of location and ambiance, we’d give it a 10 and would love to come back, but due to the poor maintenance and cleaning, we still have to give it a failing grade.

Qua ligging en uitstraling zouden we zo een 10 geven en graag nogmaals komen maar door het slechte onderhoud/schoonmaak komen we toch op een onvoldoende uit.

This little house could be a real gem—it has great charm and a wonderful location.
What a shame it’s falling into such disrepair. The cottage was dirty, filled with the owner’s (old) belongings (it almost looked as if he or she had left in a hurry and left things behind?), and it could really use a fresh coat of paint—there were dirty stains all over the walls and ceiling.
Lots of cobwebs with spiders, dust thick enough to write your name in, and there was quite a bit of debris under the couches and chairs as well.
There were also a lot of light fixtures that weren’t working.
It’s a shame, because the cottage really has potential.
Kudos to the staff at Hotel Stakenberg, who, after we complained, came by promptly and tried to resolve the issues.

Dit huisje zou een pareltje kunnen zijn, de uitstraling en ligging is geweldig.
Wat zonde dat het zo aan het verpauperen is. Het huisje was vies, staat vol met (oude) spullen van de eigenaar (het leek bijna wel of hij/zij overhaast was vertrokken en spullen had laten staan?) en een verfkwast erdoor zou geen kwaad kunnen, overal vieze vlekken op de muren/plafond.
Veel spinrag met bewoners, stof waarin je je naam kon schrijven en onder de banken lag ook het nodige.
Ook waren er een hoop lampen die het niet deden.
Zonde, want het huisje heeft echt potentieel.
Complimenten voor het personeel van Hotel Stakenberg die na klachten van ons netjes langskwamen en probeerden één en ander op te lossen.

Several lights did not work. In the bedroom adjoining a balcony there was a smell as if smoking. When we entered there was a distinct smell in the cottage and it was not clean and fresh.Everything is there: you do not miss anything. Plenty of bath towels. luxuryThe beds were made. That is a wonderful luxury!

Verschillende lampjes deden het niet. Op de slaapkamer waar een balkon aan grenst hing een geur alsof er gerookt was. Toen we binnenkwamen hing er een aparte geur in het huisje en was het niet schoon en fris.
Alles is aanwezig: je mist niks. Ruim voldoende baddoeken. luxeDe bedden waren opgemaakt. Dat is een heerlijke luxe!

The location is fantastic! You have a fantastic unobstructed view across the field. Great base for hiking in a beautiful area.

De ligging is fantastisch! Je hebt een fantastisch vrij uitzicht over het veld. Geweldige uitvalsbasis voor wandelingen in een prachtig gebied.
