This nature house is an old water mill located on the beautiful river Castellane, on the edge of the beautiful historic medieval mountain village of Mosset at 600 meters altitude in the French Pyrenees Orientales. The water mill is split into two parts, one of which is permanently occupied. The vacation home is an open studio space with an open kitchen, a private terrace and the bedroom on the open loft. The studio has its own private terrace on one side and a shared terrace on the river side. From the nature house it is about a 5-minute walk to the village square of Mosset with a local grocer where fresh bread is also available.
Nature and surroundings
From the house there are many beautiful mountain walks including to the Canigou and from the Col de Jau into the fantastic valley of the Madres. The house is also an excellent base for many beautiful bike rides both the mountains and the lower plains towards the coast. From Mosset it is about 1 hour drive to the Mediterranean Sea and to Perpignan. In the nearby town of Prades there is a lively market every Tuesday morning where many local products are sold.
