Nature house in Mantet

Our cottage is located in the pedestrian area of the small mountain village of Mantet. The cottage has room for 9 people. There are 4 bedrooms, a cozy living room with stove, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, 3 showers and 2 toilets. The cottage has 3 floors with the front door on the middle floor and entrance hall to the living room with kitchen and steep stairs leading to the rooms on the upper and lower floor. The showers and toilet are on the first floor. In front of the cottage is a large terrace with a table for outdoor dining. There is no Wifi in the cottage with a 4G subscription there is a good internet coverage. There is a washing machine, dishwasher, large freezer, electric oven and gas stove. There is also a mixer, scales and cake pans. The beds are made and bath towels are provided. At 10 minutet walking distance you can go to refresh yourself in the mountain river of Mantet.

Our cottage of la girada, under the lime tree, is located in Mantet. A village at 1500m in the eastern pyrenees on the GR10 hiking trail. It is an old beautifully restored shepherd village. We are in the natural reserve of Mantet, where the road stops. There is an old footpath that takes you further to the Spanish border, 2.5 hours walking distance. Mantet is crossed by the GR10 hiking trail that runs from Henday to Banyuls. In Mantet, sheep cheese is still made by the local sheep farmer. If you go hiking in the mountains you will still encounter sheep , cows and horses enjoying the cool breeze and herbaceous grazing on the high plains during the summer months. In the natural reserve of Mantet you can spot chamois and marmots, there are mountain peaks up to 2700m high. During the summer months you can have a drink or something small to eat at the local bar. The nearest small supermarket is at 30 minutes in vernet les bains and a larger one at 45 min.
