Welcome to our forest house located near the medieval Hanseatic cities of Hattem (3km), Zwolle (9km) and Elburg (19km). The vacation house is 80m2 and located in our yard of 6000m2 bordering the Veluwe. Nature comes very close here, with squirrels (you can hear them tripping over the roof), many species of butterflies and birds and you might hear a tawny owl at night. Around the house are 3 terraces with privacy to linger with a cozy firepit and hammocks among the trees. The forest house (max. 5 adults & 2 children) is constructed from recycled materials. The doors, kitchen, bathroom, etc. come from our demolished house further down the lot. The interior is very sustainable, but also luxuriously furnished with nice box-spring beds, bean espresso machine and a stocked wine cabinet. Especially for children there are high chairs, an inground trampoline and swing. And what child wouldn't want to dream in a treehouse bunk bed (180cm long) or converted (never used) horsebox?
Nature and surroundings
Walk out of our lane and you are on the Veluwe! The forest house is located 100m from the woods and heaths of the Veluwe. From here you can endlessly and freely walk and cycle (with many beautiful bike routes) through the beautiful nature with woodpeckers, wild boar, deer and red deer. Because of its location on the river IJssel with its beaches and floodplains ánd on the edge of the Veluwe, Hattem is a very attractive town. And there is much to do and experience. Good restaurants in various price ranges and cozy terraces on the market square. The A3 bonbon atelier and ice cream from Tutti Gelati are also a treat. Or visit the Anton Pieck, Voerman and famous Bakery Museum. Very nice for children. There are also fun events like the medieval Dikke Tinne or chocolate festival. Zwolle is easy to reach by bus, bike (April-Oct. also by ferry) or car. The nice Heerderstrand is also nearby via unpaved paths across the Veluwe.

We were hospitably received in the beautiful nature house with all amenities. Slept wonderfully on a comfortable bed.
