Nature house in Nanthiat

In the middle of a mature forest and straddling a wide river this mill-house dated back to at least 1790 was converted into a country house last century. It is partly on an island and in large gardens with waterways and bridges for access. The lake is a natural lake and is not small. Rowing to the next bridge will take you twenty minutes. Four thousand litres of water pass under the house from the lake EVERY SECOND. So it remains cool in summer, when surrounding towns and villages are suffering a heat wave, the river keeps the house cool naturally. No air-conditioning required. I am offering courses and assistance using the Tyroleanne (zipline) activities, the dingy, the Stand-up-Paddle and Bottling (recycling old PET bottles into usable items such as plant stands), the first lesson being up to three hours and after that an amount between 10 and 20euros per hour depending on the number of participants. I have taught thousands of kids between 8 and adult in Japan, Germany and France.

This area is well known for the number of fish in the rivers, the variety of birds to be seen, the different animals to be sighted walking through the gardens and the vivid stars to be seen at night as it is secluded in a quiet valley well away from the lights of the nearest town. Mountain biking, rock climbing, yoga, ball games in the large gardens, fishing, swimming, sunbathing, star gazing and nature photography are just a few of the things that can be enjoyed fully here without restrictions. Storks can be viewed waiting to catch fish in the mill pond, baby deers can be spotted wandering innocently through the garden, a wide variety of large and small birds can be seen daily all around the house and garden. The nearest neighbour is not within sight but can be reached only 200 metres away. Parking is shaded and enough space for three or four cars, or even larger campers. Large supermarkets are just 6km away in the local town Thiviers. Butterflies and dragonflies are in abundance!
