Nature house in Radenthein

If you're not looking for luxury but rather an experience in nature, this is the place to be. The owner of the cottage was very friendly, and the drive to the cottage is quite an adventure.

als je niet voor luxe gaat maar voor een natuurbelevening is dit top. Fijn contact met de eigenaar van het huisje en de weg naar het huisje is een avontuurlijk ritje.

We experienced a lot of peace, nature, and adventure in the mountains. Away from people and their noises.

We ervaarden veel rust, natuur en avontuur in de bergen. Weg van mensen en hun geluiden.

Great location. Pretty close to Lake Milstatt and the Alpine routes, and so on.

Toplocatie. Redelijk in de buurt van de Milstatter see, en van alpenroutes ed.

We stayed here for a week, and it was fantastic.
From the agreed-upon meeting spot, you can follow the owner’s car (there’s a barrier along the way—you’ll be given a remote control for it), and after about 5 km up into the mountains, you’ll arrive at your dream spot.
(Don’t be afraid to drive up a narrow slope where you might encounter oncoming traffic.)
There are (now) three other cottages, but they’re fairly far apart.
It also took some getting used to the fact that, if it’s warm during the day, you have to stoke the wood-burning stove to get hot (shower) water.
There were just the two of us, and our little Kooiker dog Douwe, but it seemed like it might be a bit cramped if you were to go with eight people, in terms of space for your belongings.

But luckily, it cools down pretty quickly in the evening at this altitude.
It was lovely to sit outside in the evening, when the terrace is in the shade. And we enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Except for the cowbells, but you get used to those in no time.
At dusk, we regularly spotted deer near the cottage with our flashlight.

Hier hebben we een week gezeten, en het was fantastisch.
Je kunt, vanaf de afgesproken plek, achter de eigenaar aanrijden, (onderweg nog een slagboom, hier krijg je een afstandsbediening voor) en na een km of 5 de bergen op, kom je bij je droom plek.
(je moet niet bang zijn een smalle helling te nemen, met kans op tegenliggers)
Er zijn (inmiddels) 3 meerdere huisjes, maar die staan redelijk op afstand.
Ook was het wel even wennen, dat als het overdag warm is, je het hougestookte fornuis op moet stoken voor warm (douche) water.
Wij waren met zijn 2en, en ons kooiker hondje Douwe maar het leek ons wel wat krap mocht je met 8 personen gaan, qua spulletjes.

Maar gelukkig koelt het best snel af in de avond op deze hoogte.
Heerlijk buiten gezeten in de avond, dan is de schaduw op het terasje. En genoten van de rust.
Op de koeien-bellen na, maar daar wen je zo aan.
In de avond schemering hebben we vlak bij het huisje regelmatig herten gespot, met de zaklamp.

A very nice and cozy little house. The wood-burning stove works great. You can cook on it and use it to heat water. Lovely surroundings. The village of Radenthein is nearby and has all the amenities you need.
There aren't quite enough garden chairs, though.

Erg leuk en knus huisje. De stoof welke werkt op brand op hout werkt prima. Je kookt er op en je verkrijgt er je warm water mee. Heerlijke omgeving. Het Dorp Radenthein is dichtbij en heeft alle voorzieningen.
Er zijn wel wat weinig tuinstoelen
