Discover the tranquility of the Morvan, in the heart of Bourogne, in our cottage "Goguelat", an authentic and characterful 18th-century stone farmhouse with slate roof. The gîte was completely renovated, insulated and decorated in 2023, perfectly combining comfort and authenticity. The detached house has spectacular views and is idyllically located between rolling meadows with no through roads and offers absolute privacy with 2000m² garden and orchard. The living room (36m²) has a sitting area around the wood stove, a dining area and a fully equipped open kitchen with induction stove, oven and refrigerator (no freezer). The second bedroom is on the ground floor with trundle bed for 2 persons (2x80x200). Via the stairs you reach the modern bathroom with walk-in shower and toilet and then the spacious master bedroom (12m²) with double bed (160x200). Perfect for nature lovers and hikers who enjoy spectacular views and the authentic atmosphere of the Morvan.
Nature and surroundings
The Morvan is one of France's oldest natural parks. The granite massif is rolling and unspoiled. There are extensive and ancient forests, many meandering watercourses and (reservoir) lakes, old footpaths and rolling meadows with hedges. An ideal place for people looking for silence and some more rugged nature. There are endless hiking trails and mountain bike routes and lots of fishing. There are historical and archaeological sites (Bibracte, mont Beuvray) and several attractive, sometimes sleepy villages to visit (Vézelay, Lucy). From April to October, there are often brocante markets to browse. Autun and Beaune are about an hour's drive away and well worth a visit. Our house is located in the hilly heart of the Morvan. It offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills. There are also reservoirs where you can swim, canoe or fish. The quiet Lac de Pannecière and the busier, more touristy Lac des Settons are 7 and 10 km away respectively.
