Bus stop in front of the house on the former state road from Schortens to Wilhelmshaven. Car parking and outdoor seating area in front of the entrance. A 10-km drive to the North Sea dike. Since 1991, an organic & fair trade store featuring an organic & farm shop, a zero-waste shop, a fair trade consumer goods store, a bistro-café, and a coffee roastery. Since 2022, also a vacation resort with 5 different vacation homes/apartments. - 3 km to Schortens, 5 km to Jever, 8 km to Wilhelmshaven. - A €200 cash deposit is required upon key pickup. The general amenities are okay. Good kitchen, plenty of closet space for clothes. However, I have to deduct points for the beds and the bathroom facilities. The mattresses urgently need to be replaced, and the mattress toppers had stains. The toilet flush is quite finicky, which often results in no water running afterward. It’s difficult with kids. Another unfortunate negative was the label “body parts” on the trash cans and the garbage bin, which leaves a slightly discriminatory aftertaste.
