Unwind in the spacious, rolling Swedish countryside and experience nature right outside your door! Located between the Småland towns of Ljungby and Älmhult you will find this authentic, cozy summer cottage. Completely renovated, it breathes the atmosphere of a century-old Swedish wooden 'sommarstuga' (55 m2). It is simple, and yet fully equipped. The cottage also lends itself to a stopover on transit in Sweden. It has a cozy living room with a spacious dining area. There is a bedroom on the ground floor and a sleeping loft (not for tall people). It is suitable for max. 2 adults and possibly 2 children (from age 7). The equipped kitchen has coffee maker, kettle, airfryer, 2-burner induction, fridge/freezer. Shower and toilet are located in the completely renovated outside building! The cottage is sustainable: fully insulated, double glazing, air heat pump. Water comes from its own well and the spacious garden has outdoor furniture; possibility of cooking/grilling.
Nature and surroundings
The summer cottage is very centrally located between many different nature reserves. The island Bolmen is about half an hour away, nature reserve Åsnen is more than half an hour away. Near the cottage are several hiking trails and within cycling or car distance are more opportunities to walk in nature. It is an excellent base for excursions or day trips. In Elinge (5 km) you will find the oldest moose park and in Markaryd an elk safari is possible. You can swim in the many lakes (already fifteen minutes away), or the sea at e.g. Mellbystrand or Laholm. It is only a 20 km drive to the only IKEA museum, in Älmhult. Pippi's house in Astrid Lindgrens-world in Vimmerby, or Glasriket with its glassworks are fun outings. Helsingborg and Växjö are an hour's drive away. In Ljungby you will find several museums: including Sago Museum (fairy tales), Ljungberg Museum (Sven Ljungberg), Ljungby Museum. Shopping and eating out can be done in Ljungby or Älmhult, both 20 km away.
