Nature house in Schortens

The cottage was unfortunately not as quiet and in nature as we had imagined. The cottage is located directly behind a long house (organic store, cafe, world store). Next to the tiny house is a parking lot for mobile homes (2-5 units) which are also rented out. From the round window of the Tiny you have a direct view. The 6000m² mentioned in the advertisement were only partially usable. The landlord's response: "We recommend that our guests read the advertisement before booking. This shows that the Tiny House is not located somewhere in the forest or that the 6,000 m² are available for the sole use of the Tiny House guests, but that it is built on a building plot within walking distance of the guest parking lot and the utilities. After booking, we also send a detailed version of our house rules with all the important details for a smooth stay. According to the guest, both sources of information were unfortunately not used.

Das Häuschen war für uns leider nicht so ruhig und in der Natur wie wir uns es vorgestellt haben. Das Häuschen befindet sich direkt hinter einem langem Haus(Bioladen, Cafe, Weltladen). Neben dem Tinyhaus befindet sich ein Parkplatz für Wohnmobile (2-5 Stk) die auch noch vermietet werden. Aus dem runden Fenster des Tinys schaut man direkt drauf. Die in der Anzeige angesprochenen 6000m² waren nur zu einem Teil nutzbar.

Die Antwort des Vermieters: Wir empfehlen unseren Gästen, das Inserat zu lesen, bevor sie buchen. Daraus geht hervor, dass das Tiny-House nicht irgendwo im Wald steht oder die 6.000 qm den Tiny-House-Gästen zur alleinigen Nutzung zur Verfügung stehen, sondern bauordnungsgemäß auf einem Baugrundstück in fußläufiger Nähe zum Gäste-Parkplatz und den Versorgungseinrichtungen. Auch versenden wir nach der Buchung eine ausführliche Version unserer Hausregeln mit allen wichtigen Details für einen reibungslosen Ablauf des Aufenthalts. Beide Informations-Quellen wurden nach Aussage des Gastes leider nicht genutzt.

The surroundings were beautiful. Forest & sea (about 15km away) to go for a walk. The pitch did not quite meet our expectations.

Die Umgebung war schön. Wald & Meer(ca 15km entfernt) zum spazieren gehen. Der Stellplatz entsprach nicht ganz unseren Vorstellungen.

The urine-diverting toilet is just a little unusual.

Die Trenntoilette ist nur ein bisschen ungewohnt.

Everything you need in this little house. Very clean and cozy. We would gladly stay again.

Alles da in dem Häuschen was man braucht. Sehr sauber und gemütlich. Gerne wieder.

The cottage itself is really small. So bringing too much luggage (especially if you are 4 people!) is really not convenient! There is not much storage space. There could hang more closets, though. For washing clothes, the landlord has recently purchased a 2nd hand washing machine. However, this one does not seem to wash clean. There is also no detergent available (we had detergent with us). We have to pay for electricity and water, and the available terrace is not very nice either. There is a fire pit, but it is relatively close to the table for sitting and eating. If the wind is wrong, you can have a lot of trouble with that. Landlord's comment: We rent our nature house including electricity, gas and water on a natural site of 6,000 m² on the edge of a residential area with traffic connections for cars and public transport, surrounded by forests, but not in the middle of the forest, because that is not allowed. In the coffee garden, which is separated by a small thatched fence, there are no people in the evening to control the evening meal of vacationers, as the café is completely closed from 6:30 p.m. and from Saturday to Monday. In fact, the owners of the property have the ability to enter their property themselves to maintain and cultivate it and to access the other vacation homes. At the request of the Koster family, we have specially installed a fully functional washing machine, for which detergent is on sale in our supermarket.

Het huisje zelf is echt klein. Dus teveel bagage meenemen (vooral als je met 4 personen bent!) is echt niet handig! Veel bergruimte is er niet aanwezig. Er zouden wel meer kasten kunnen hangen. Voor het wassen van kleding heeft de verhuurder recent een 2e hands wasmachine aangeschaft. Deze lijkt echter niet schoon te wassen. Ook is er geen wasmiddel beschikbaar (we hadden wasmiddel bij ons). Wel betalen voor elektra en water.
Het beschikbare terras houd overigens ook niet over. Er staat een vuurkorf, maar deze staat relatief dicht bij de tafel om te zitten en te eten. Als de wind verkeerd staat, kun je daar flink last van hebben.

Reactie van verhuurder:
Wij verhuren ons natuurhuisje inclusief elektriciteit, gas en water op een natuurlijk terrein van 6.000 m² aan de rand van een woonwijk met verkeersverbindingen voor auto's en openbaar vervoer, omgeven door bossen, maar niet midden in het bos, omdat dat niet is toegestaan. In de koffietuin, die door een klein rieten hek is afgescheiden, zitten 's avonds geen mensen die het avondeten van de vakantiegangers kunnen controleren, omdat het café vanaf 18.30 uur en van zaterdag tot maandag helemaal gesloten is. In feite hebben de eigenaren van het terrein de mogelijkheid om hun terrein zelf te betreden om het te onderhouden en te bewerken en om bij de andere vakantiehuizen te komen. Op verzoek van de familie Koster hebben we speciaal een volledig functionele wasmachine geïnstalleerd, waarvoor wasmiddel te koop is in onze supermarkt.

A lot of noise from the adjacent road and a lawnmower or garbage truck or the like could often be heard. So all in all not very quiet. We are of the opinion that it therefore does not deserve the "predicate" of nature house. Furthermore, we did not like the fact that you are so on the view. Guests of the café (terrace directly adjacent to the terrace of the Tiny house) could see exactly how you sit and what you are eating in the evening, for example. The owner/landlord also often walks by to get to the other side of the yard. So you have to be able to stand that.

Veel geluid van de naastgelegen weg en er was vaak een grasmaaier of vuilniswagen o.i.d. te horen. Al met al dus niet heel stil. We zijn van mening dat het daarom niet het "predikaat" van natuurhuisje verdient.
Verder vonden we het niet erg prettig dat je zo op de kijk zit. Gasten van het café (terras direct aansluitend op het terras van het tiny-house) konden precies zien hoe je erbij zit en wat je bijvoorbeeld 's avonds aan het eten bent. De eigenaar/verhuurder loopt ook vaak langs om aan de andere kant van het erf te kunnen komen. Daar moet je dus wel tegen kunnen.
