You wake up between the trees, and walk straight into the forest! After a day in nature you can completely relax in our cozy cottage. In fine weather you can bbq outside and eat at the picnic table. On cool evenings make fire in the wood stove. (Wood and charcoal available) There is a sitting area with TV, DVD and CD player. A dining area for 4 people, a kitchenette with electric stove and small microwave oven. Coffee is made with a Nespresso or press coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower, toilet, sink and hairdryer. There is 1 bedroom with a double bed + double comforter + 2 pillows, 1 bedroom with a bunk bed + 2 comforters + 2 pillows. We provide toilet paper, household roll, detergent, oil and spices. You bring your own bed-bath and kitchen linen! Hiking maps and a folder with information are waiting for you!
Nature and surroundings
Our chalet is located in a small wooded vacation park, where there is a small playground and some animals. There is possibility to play ping-pong and petanque in the park. In 15 minutes you can walk to the village of Oignies, where there is a butcher, small grocery store with bread and places to eat. Some marked walks leave from the park. Oignies-en-Thiérache belongs to the municipality of Viroinval, which includes 8 picturesque villages. It is part of the Viroin-Hermeton Natural Park, known for its many gorges, limestone hills and endless forests. In each village you will find a map with signposted walks! The French border is nearby.
