Nature house in Esquéhéries

We were warmly welcomed, and we really appreciated being offered vegetables from the host’s own garden. Communication was good, clear, and prompt.

The cottage itself is clean and well-maintained. We slept wonderfully on the comfortable bed, and the shower was also very pleasant. In terms of amenities, we didn’t lack for anything—everything we needed was there.

The location is also convenient: there’s a bakery within walking distance, and the supermarket is easily accessible—about a five-minute drive away.

A small suggestion for the future: installing mosquito screens would be a nice addition.

In short: a wonderful place for anyone looking for peace, privacy, and nature. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back.

We werden vriendelijk ontvangen, en vonden het erg leuk dat ons zelfs groenten uit eigen tuin werden aangeboden. De communicatie was goed, duidelijk en snel.

Het huisje zelf is schoon en goed onderhouden. We hebben heerlijk geslapen op het fijne bed, en ook de douche is erg prettig. Qua inventaris hebben we niets gemist, alles wat we nodig hadden was aanwezig.

Ook de ligging is prettig: er is een bakkerij op loopafstand, en de supermarkt is met ongeveer vijf minuten rijden goed bereikbaar.

Een klein puntje voor de toekomst: er worden horren geplaatst tegen de muggen, wat zeker een mooie aanvulling zal zijn.

Kortom: een heerlijke plek voor wie op zoek is naar rust, privacy en natuur. Wij hebben hier met veel plezier verbleven, en komen graag nog eens terug.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely nature house. What immediately stands out are the peace and quiet, the open space, and the wonderful privacy. The house is set in a beautifully landscaped garden with plenty of greenery. A fire pit and barbecue are provided, and there are all kinds of cozy outdoor seating areas. This means there’s always a quiet spot to find to enjoy the surroundings and the silence. We spotted various birds, and even a little squirrel just five meters away, calmly munching on a nut.

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf in dit fijne natuurhuisje. Wat meteen opvalt zijn de rust en ruimte en de heerlijke privacy. Het huisje ligt in een prachtig aangelegde tuin, met veel groen. Een vuurschaal en barbecue zijn aanwezig, en er zijn allerlei fijne zitjes buiten. Daardoor is er altijd wel een rustig plekje te vinden om van de omgeving en de stilte te genieten. Zo hebben we verschillende vogels gezien, en zelfs een eekhoorntje op vijf meter afstand dat rustig een nootje zat te eten.

The Tiny house is very practically furnished, so everything you need is there. It was well-maintained and clean. The welcome was friendly and clear. Whenever we had questions, we could always reach the owners quickly.

Het Tiny house is zeer praktisch ingericht waardoor alles aanwezig is. Het was goed onderhouden en schoon. De ontvangst was vriendelijk en duidelijk. Bij vragen konden we steeds snel terecht bij de eigenaars.

The Tiny house is located in a well-maintained private park. You're surrounded by trees, wildlife, and plants. It's a quiet neighborhood. It's peaceful to relax on your patio or in the garden, which has a fire pit. We didn't have any problems with flies or mosquitoes.

Het Tiny house ligt in een goed onderhouden privéparkje. Je bent omringd door bomen, fauna en flora. Het is een stille buurt. Rustig om op je terras of in de tuin zelf met vuurkorf te vertoeven. Wij hadden geen last van vliegen of muggen.

Insect screens on the windows would be a nice addition.

Horren voor de ramen zou een toegevoegde waarde zijn.

A small cottage in André and Graziella’s beautiful garden. They’re incredibly kind people, very discreetly present in the background and always available.
Everything you need for a pleasant stay, and we really enjoyed breakfast and dinner on the terrace while spotting hares, squirrels, and herons all around the garden.
For me, it served as a base for bike rides. The region is hilly; the Forêt de Mormal is highly recommended.
There’s a very good bakery in Esquéhéries; for other shopping, you’ll need to head to Le Nouvion-en-Thiérache. Or you can bike to Guise through the forest on EuroVelo Route 3.

Kleine gite in de prachtige tuin van André en Graziella. Super lieve mensen, heel discreet op de achtergrond aanwezig en altijd beschikbaar.
Alles aanwezig voor een aangenaam verblijf en erg genoten van ontbijt en diner op het terras terwijl hazen, eekhoorns, reigers rondom in de tuin te spotten zijn.
Voor mij was het de uitvalsbasis voor fietstochten. De regio is hellend, Forêt de Mormal ee echte aanrader.
In Esquéhéries is er een heel goede bakker, voor andere aankopen is men aangewezen op Le Nouvion-en-Thiérache. Of met de fiets naar Guise door het bos op de Eurovéloroute 3.
Tevreden over de hele lijn.
