West of the city of Groningen, on the Reitdiep, you will find our special Nature House. The roof of our house is covered from the ground (back) to the large window (front) with a thick layer of clay and overgrown with grass and flowers. As a result, the house is well insulated, sunny and spacious. A heat pump heats the floor and the water. A car is handy because it is very rural. Bicycles can be rented and brought to the house. Nature and surroundings
In the summer you can swim in Groningen's most beautiful river, the Reitdiep. Neighbors have boats and supplanken for rent. We also have a jetty should you want to bring a boat along. The cottage is located in a hamlet with an old inn, a bridge keeper's house, a few small workers' houses, a quiet campsite. All around you see fields of grain and corn. Behind our house, on a small dike, cows graze. At the nearby campsite you will find a food truck with Israeli food and within walking distance across the water is a delicious restaurant where you can eat for little, out of season there is a food and movie night on Thursdays.
