This is a really nice place to completely unwind and connect with silence and nature. Our house is halfway up a hill in a green valley where olive and almond trees alternate with pines and shrubs. We live here deliberately "off-grid"; the sun gives us energy through solar panels; we collect rainwater for daily use (showering, washing, toilet). The hinterland of Castellón is surprisingly green, empty and mountainous with beautiful old villages. From our Finca you can already start a short or longer walk through the hills. Our house is located 3 km from the typical Spanish village Useras, with narrow alleys and bars. Nearby starts the long-distance trail GR33. This is 65km long and runs from the city of Castellón (sea level) to the top of Mount Penyagolosa (1814m). Nearby are several National Parks with marked hiking and cycling routes: Desertes de las Palmes, Sierra d'Engarcerán and the Sierra d'Irta. If desired, we can facilitate your hiking tours with transportation for a proper fee. Wide beaches with cozy eateries are about 40 minutes by car (for example, Benicasim and Alcossebre).
