This nature house is a unique outdoor retreat nestled in the heart of the Veluwe forests. You’ll stay high up among the treetops in the countryside at Buitenplaats Koningsweg, near Schaarsbergen. A forest retreat where you can find peace and quiet, reconnect with yourself, and grow closer to one another. In addition to enjoying the forest surrounding the nature house, there’s plenty to do in the area, from Park de Hoge Veluwe to downtown Arnhem. The nature house is accessed via a 7.5-meter-high spiral staircase that leads to the forest terrace with spectacular views. The kitchen-dining area is located right next to the forest terrace. On the first floor is the bathroom with a shower and toilet. And on the second floor, under the sloped roof, is the bedroom. This nature house was built with great care in 2023 and features sustainable, high-quality materials and amenities. Access to the house is contactless. We’ll send you the code a few days before your arrival.

This country retreat is located in the middle of the forest with no immediate neighbors within 50 meters. The nature house is part of a unique project by the municipality of Arnhem to develop distinctive country retreats (follies) in the forest. The central theme of the project was “camouflage,” and we chose to hide our cottage among the treetops. From the forest terrace, you can look out over the Arnhem countryside—a unique experience of tranquility and natural beauty. This nature house is intended as a forest retreat for 1 or 2 people; it’s also possible to bring up to 2 children. In that case, you’ll all sleep together in the “bird’s nest,” which is one large 4-person bed. Please note that this cabin is not suitable for people who have difficulty climbing stairs!
