This residence, winner of the Heuvelink Architectuurprijs 2024, is just steps away from entrance Schaarsbergen of Park de Hoge Veluwe. From the jury report for Heuvelinkprijs 2024: "The jury is very impressed by this magic box, which is right from the first concept to the last detail." The accommodation has all modern conveniences and is spacious enough for 5 people, but also very suitable for a weekend getaway for two. It is a particularly designed house with spacious kitchen, comfortable sitting area and large sliding doors that give access to the terrace all around. There are 5 sleeping areas (length 200cm) including a double bed that offers wide views of the swaying treetops. The sleeping quarters are open to each other through a grid and the ground floor has underfloor heating. In the summer months, translucent blinds block heat through the skylight. Outside is an outlet for electric bicycles. There is also an outdoor faucet for the garden hose or outdoor shower.
Nature and surroundings
Buitenplaats Koningsweg is a wooded estate with a fascinating history. It used to be a military site. Nowadays, people live and work here. The estate borders on Park de Hoge Veluwe, the Veluwezoom and the Deeler forest. At Buitenplaats Koningsweg there are 10 special, architect-designed vacation homes since 2024. Sights within walking and/or cycling distance they Kröller Müller, Burgers' Zoo and the Open Air Museum. In the woods around the residence you will find the most beautiful mountain bike trails. Cycling through the woods, you are within half an hour in the center of Arnhem. In short: nature, culture and architecture just steps away from Park de Hoge Veluwe.
