The house is fully equipped. It is located on the outskirts of the village, in the heart of a mountainous area. The house has a living room with an open kitchen and three bedrooms upstairs, each with two beds. The house is heated by a pellet stove using pellets sourced from Swiss forests. The kitchen is equipped with an induction cooktop and an electric oven. There is a basement beneath the house with a washing machine, dryer, and freezer. There is a terrace with a stunning view of the 2,999-meter-high Piz Beverin and all the other mountain peaks in the surrounding area. You can see for kilometers and enjoy the view.
Nature and surroundings
Oberurmein is located at an elevation of approximately 1,500 meters. It is accessible by bus or car from Thusis, which is located at an elevation of 720 meters. Thusis has a train and bus station. In winter, the bus goes all the way to Oberurmein. The rest of the year, you’ll need to walk 20 minutes from the bus stop to the house. Thusis has all the necessary shops and supermarkets. In Oberurmein, there is a small shop selling the very basics, mostly local products. There is also a restaurant. From the house, you can go on many hikes or bike rides (mountain bike or e-bike). There are several mountain lakes nearby. From the house, cities such as Chur (Switzerland’s oldest city), Arosa, St. Moritz, Davos, and Flims are all within an hour’s reach—and, of course, accessible by train from Thusis. All the famous Swiss trains, such as the Albula Train, the Benina, and the Glacier Express, also stop there. There are also several thermal baths in the area.
