Waking up with only birdsong, having breakfast in the rising sun, or dreaming away by a crackling fire. A stone's throw from the city of Groningen, on the edge of a medieval village with an old monastery church and yet completely surrounded by nature.... That is Ark van Thesinge, where you will find a beautiful spacious and cozy attic suite in a 150-year-old Groninger farmhouse with old beams, creaking stairs and wooden floors. But at the same time with all the conveniences you desire from a luxury B&B. Good beds, lovely bathrooms, lots of privacy. Ark van Thesinge is an oasis of silence, beauty and peace. Our breakfasts are organic and vegetarian and much comes from our own vegetable garden. The bread is freshly baked sourdough and the eggs come from our own chickens.The loft suite is in 75m2 and consists of 2 rooms. There is a lovely king-size box spring and two twin beds in the second room. The rooms are only rented together.
Nature and surroundings
Ark van Thesinge is surrounded by beautiful nature. We have a large and rich vegetable garden in our yard and if you are looking for a quiet place you can easily run into a deer or a hare. With a little luck you can spot the kingfisher or the common tern by the canal next to our house. The hen harrier hunts over the fields and at night owls and bats fly around the farm. A paradise for the true nature lover, at night you can see the stars very clearly. There is little light pollution, it is really quiet and you see no power pylons or windmills nearby. There are beautiful walks and bike rides to make across the Groninger countryside. And if you want to go a little further, you can easily reach the Wad or the Lauwersmeer area, both world famous nature reserves and very interesting for birdwatchers. We can advise you on wonderful days out.

Nature, peace & environment:A beautiful location in a nice village with a delicious full breakfast. From the pictures it is not entirely clear what you eventually rent (in our case a spacious room with sloping roof on the 1st floor). When we asked whether we might use the cozy breakfast/sitting room (see photos) on New Year's Eve for guests and otherwise not in use, was answered ' that that was not the intention'. Bit of a shame.
Een prachtige locatie in een leuk dorpje met een heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt. Goed verzorgd! Uit de foto’s is niet helemaal op te maken wat je uiteindelijk huurt (in ons geval een ruime kamer met schuin dak op 1e verdieping). Op de vraag of we op oudejaarsavond wellicht gebruik mochten maken van de gezellige ontbijt/zitkamer (zie foto’s) voor de gasten en verder niet in gebruik, werd geantwoord ‘ dat dat niet de bedoeling was’. Beetje jammer.

Angelina January 27, 2024 General rating:Mooie b&b heerlijke bedden. De zolder huur je af en ik was met mijn collega. Wij hadden allebei onze eigen kamer. Heel ruim met een zitje. Stijlvol en gezellig ingericht. In de ochtend hadden we een heerlijk ontbijt in de ontbijtkamer met een heerlijk haardje. Elke ochtend werd het haardje opgestookt en de kaarsjes aangedaan. Super lieve eigenaren Boele en Annat.Nature, peace & environment:Prachtige b&b met een mooie uitkijk over de landerijen. Mooi knus dorpje. Leuk om even door te lopen
Wij zijn naar het nationaal park gegaan Lauwersmeer. Prachtige omgeving om te wandelen. Boele was zo lief om een route uit te stippelen voor ons door de leuke dorpjes.
Wij komen zeker nog een keer terug en dan in de zomerperiode -

Nature, peace & environment:Prachtig Gronings landschap. Het dorpje Thesinge is een lieflijk dorpje, waar het huis een prachtige locatie in heeft.
