Nature house in Schoondijke

In addition to the peace and quiet of the surroundings, the cottage has everything you need for a pleasant stay: comfortable beds (maybe a little short?) and well-darkened bedrooms, a cozy living room, and a kitchen with all the amenities you’d reasonably expect. The support beams in the kitchen are very low, though—I bumped into them a few times, and I’m not even that tall. The picnic table in the garden was also really nice; we ate every breakfast and lunch there.

Personally, it seems a bit small to me for four adults to stay there, but for 2+1 it was really perfect.

Het huisje heeft, naast de stilte en de rustige omgeving, alles wat je nodig hebt voor een fijn verblijf: goede bedden (misschien een beetje kort?) en goed verduisterde slaapkamers, een fijne woonkamer en een keuken met alle voorzieningen die je redelijkerwijze mag verwachten. De steunbalken in de keuken zijn wel heel laag, ik ben er een aantal keren tegengelopen, en ik ben niet eens zo groot. De picknicktafel in de tuin was ook heel leuk, ieder ontbijt en middagmaal hebben we daar gegeten.

Persoonlijk lijkt het me een beetje klein om er met vier volwassenen te verblijven, maar met 2+1 was het echt perfect.

It was our first vacation with a baby. Whereas on previous vacations we’d always been inclined to squeeze as much as possible out of them, that wasn’t the case this time; the tranquility of the cottage and the surroundings allowed us to fully embrace this. Fantastic.

Het was onze eerste vakantie met een baby. Waar we tijdens vorige vakanties altijd geneigd waren om er zoveel mogelijk uit te persen was dat nu niet het geval, de rust in het huisje en de omgeving maakte dat we dit helemaal konden omarmen. Fantastisch.

Nice and secluded—although the nearest neighbors can see into the garden, we heard they’re going to put up a hedge there

We did have a lot of trouble with flies; there are no window screens anywhere in the cottage
Tip: get some window screens!

The cottage is located on a very small road with little traffic.
