This fine old farmhouse is located on the church square of Jeantes, a small village with a remarkable church. The house has been renovated and decorated with care and equipped with all kinds of fun and comforts. You have the whole house & garden (3200m2) to yourself :) The huge garden with beautiful barn and orchard offers lots of privacy and an unobstructed view. Even in winter it is good to stay here: play games in front of the fireplace or after a walk in the sauna and hot tub :) Ground floor: spacious living room with fireplace and piano, spacious and well equipped kitchen (with oven / microwave / dishwasher), a bathroom with bath and shower, separate toilet and utility room with washer / dryer and table soccer. 1st floor: 4 spacious bedrooms with a total of 8 beds, bathroom with shower and a separate toilet Garden: wood-fired sauna and hot tub (both 6-persons), barbecue, fire bowl, hammocks, outdoor room with ping-pong table, sitting area, dining table and other outdoor games. Heating via central heating Good Wifi!
Nature and surroundings
Here it is often still really quiet and dark and you can admire the clear night sky from the hot tub, with bats flying around and the occasional screech of barn owls living in the barn... The house is in the Thierache, a coulisse landscape of hills, forests and vistas. The region is known for its fortified churches, mud half-timbered houses and farms. Here you can still walk without meeting anyone except cows, sheep, chickens, deer, hares and the occasional fox. A forest walk in the forêt de la domaine St Michel is also highly recommended. For the fanatic there is an adventure park/climbing forest at a 20 min drive. L'Église St Martin, the fortified church opposite the house, has a special history: for many years it was led by a Dutch pastor (with a Portuguese name) and the impressive murals are by Charles Eijk. There is a bakery in Plomion and at a 15 min drive there are large supermarkets.
