Nature house in Akkrum

This nature house stands on the site of the old haystack, right on open water, with its own dock 40 meters away. It’s a group accommodation for 15 to 40 people, with 50 beds in 11 bedrooms: 3 bedrooms downstairs with 14 beds, and 8 bedrooms upstairs with 36. The living area is spacious enough for about 40 people, and with the sunroom included, it can accommodate up to 50. There is a private professional kitchen, so your group can cook for itself. De Berch is available for rent at full capacity year-round. The beds are equipped with a mattress cover and a pillow with a pillowcase; please bring your own comforter, comforter cover, and towels, or book them separately. Your dog is welcome, but not in the bedrooms. Groups of friends, families, and small school groups love to stay here.

You’ll be staying at our location: twelve wooden waterfront lodges and three group accommodations spread across three hectares, right next to De Alde Feanen National Park. The property is located on the Wijde Ee. From this lake, you can paddle to Grou or De Alde Feanen without crossing any bridges, and in the other direction to Akkrum and the Sneekermeer. The area is surrounded by meadows, reed beds, and canals, and the sounds of birds are all you’ll hear. Cars are parked in the central parking lot, which has six charging stations; you can walk to your cottage with a luggage cart. On the grounds, there’s a play area, a playground, a table tennis table, and a water slide that ends in the lake. You can rent the floating sauna in two-hour blocks, and upon request, it can be taken out onto the lake. You can rent a rowboat, canoe, or stand-up paddleboard on-site. The village and train station of Akkrum are 4 kilometers away, Grou is 10 kilometers away, and Leeuwarden is 20 kilometers away. Akkrum has held Green Key Gold certification since 2024 and is a fireworks-free zone.
