The VW Camper is at the end of a cul-de-sac in the agricultural village of Les Autels - overlooking surrounding fields. Off-grid camping means enjoying quiet simple days close to nature. Oyfanoy is a wool label with its own sheep flock. A knitting workshop or a guided visit to the flock is certainly possible. Inside the camper is a fine kitchenette and a comfortable double bed obtained by folding down the table and extending it (people taller than 1.90 will find the camper too small). There is also a smaller bed for a child up to about 10 years old. Electricity is provided by the life battery. Sanitary facilities include a serviced dry toilet with sink, an outdoor sink and a rainwater shower - for you alone on a 1200 m2 meadow with its own entrance. There is drinking water, a cool box as well as a folding bicycle. In the sheep barn in our yard there is a refrigerator (with freezer compartment) for guests and charging cell phones and the like.
Nature and surroundings
Les Autels is a small agricultural village where everyday life is defined by the weather, farmers and animals. The village is situated on the border of Aisne and the French Ardennes (2 km). The coulisse landscape offers green fields and forests to get lost in. There are stores 4 km away, a typical northern French bar-tabac and a fine caterer. In summer there are flea markets everywhere and all the nights are wonderfully quiet and dark. It is a great place to watch the stars, start a fire, knit, read a book or bird watch. City trips are possible to Charleville-Mézières, Laon and Reims. But you can always land in the double hammock.
