Are you looking for a spacious cottage surrounded by nature, close to Lake Åsnen and Åsnen National Park? Then look no further! A rowboat is included in the rental, and you can rent a two-person kayak. There’s a large, peaceful sunbathing area with benches and tables by the lake, and a small beach. The cottage features a fenced-in garden offering plenty of privacy, a large veranda with sliding windows (16 m²), an entryway, a bright living room (19 m²) with a fireplace, and an open kitchen. There is one bedroom (12 m²) with three beds, including comforters, blankets, and pillows, and a cozy sleeping cabin with electricity in the garden that sleeps two people. Blackout roller shades and window screens are also provided! Of course, there’s also outdoor furniture and a BBQ. High-speed Wi-Fi is included in the price. The bathroom features a toilet, shower, sink, and mirror cabinets.
Nature and surroundings
Hagstad is located on Lake Åsnen, close to several nature reserves and Sunnabron, the entrance to Åsnen National Park. The Åsnen region is an unspoiled natural paradise featuring an archipelago of inland lakes with more than 1,000 islands. This is the place to come for peace and quiet, to hike in the woods, bike, and swim. You can also go boating on the lake, fish, birdwatch, and pick mushrooms. Hagstad consists mainly of cottages available for rent, though there are also a few permanent residents. From the cottage, it’s just a pleasant walk of a few hundred meters to the lake, the sunbathing area, and the boat/canoe dock. In the Åsnen area, you’ll find farm shops, locally grown vegetables, apple cider, honey, and fruit, as well as a fish smokehouse. Hagstad is also an ideal base for day trips to Växjö, Älmhult, Karlskrona, and other destinations. Don’t feel like cooking? You can enjoy a delicious and affordable lunch in Vrankunge and Urshult.
