This cozy cottage is hidden behind a dike, rural location on a farmhouse dating from 1852 (Zeeland heritage). A beautiful place central in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen with lots of privacy. This former pigsty is completely transformed while retaining old characteristic elements. From the cottage you have beautiful unobstructed views over the meadow, pollard willows and the polders behind. The kitchen is equipped with all modern gadgets for extensive baking and baking. There is also a nice rain shower, sink and a separate toilet. The cottage is well insulated and with underfloor heating, rotating wood stove and a blanket it is nice and warm here even in the colder winter months. The guest house is on our three-acre plot. So plenty of space to barbecue, light the brazier or choose a sunny or shady spot in the meadow or orchard to lose yourself in a good book, meditate, or otherwise enjoy the tranquility.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is a very nice base to go out with your walking shoes or with your bike to the adjacent nature reserve the Braakman. Also the nature reserves Het Verdronken Land van Saefthinge, the Waterdunen and the Zwin are really beautiful! Go supping in Terneuzen and spot seals or enjoy one of the beautiful wide beaches on the coast of Zeeland Flanders (several times voted the cleanest beach of the year). Be further surprised and discover the old picturesque villages and towns nearby such as Retranchement, Groede and Cadzand. Day trips to Bruges, Ghent or Antwerp can also be made from here. You can also take the ferry from Breskens across the Westerschelde and visit Middelburg, for example. Enough choice for nature lovers and culture sniffers. And for the gourmets: if you do not feel like cooking, there are also many good restaurants in this Burgundian border region, e.g. in the mussel village of Philippine.
