Nature house in Munnekeburen

On the edge of the Rottige Meente nature reserve in Munnekeburen, you’ll find our fully furnished log cabin. The cabin has two bedrooms, one with a double bed (160×200 cm) and one with a bunk bed for two children. We accommodate a maximum of 3 adults. There is a bathroom with a toilet, shower, and sink. The kitchen is equipped with a spacious refrigerator with a freezer compartment, an induction cooktop, a convection oven, a kettle, and a filter coffee maker. The living room has a spacious two-seater sofa, a pellet stove, a dining table with four chairs, and a television. The log cabin is located on our own property, but the lot is large enough to offer privacy. It also offers a beautiful view of the nature reserve with its peat pits. The log cabin was built and finished in 2023 and is therefore still in very good condition. You’ll need to bring your own towels. Bed linens and kitchen linens are available for rent if needed. Munnekeburen is a small, quiet village located in southern Friesland. It lies in the heart of the Rottige Meente nature reserve, a lowland peat bog area bordering the Weerribben in Overijssel. Various hiking and biking trails lead you into the peace and quiet of nature. Nearby attractions include the Brandemeer and Tjeukemeer lakes, and the IJsselmeer near Lemmer is less than half an hour away. A local shop in the village offers regional products, fresh milk, and any groceries you may have forgotten. There are several tea gardens and small eateries in the area. In the spring and summer, you can hop on a SUP board and explore the Scheene, which flows through the Rottige Meente. There’s also a direct walking and biking path that takes you there. With a little luck, you might spot beautiful animals such as roe deer, hares, foxes, otters, storks, and the rare Large Copper butterfly… all right as soon as you step out of the log cabin!
