A self-contained cottage (gite) with an open double bedroom on the 1st floor. The cottage is in our enclosed courtyard across from our house. Downstairs, there is an open-plan lounge/kitchen & dining space plus shower room. The cottage has been lovingly restored from an old stable & finished in solid timbers; it is compact but equipped with everything you will need for your getaway. Babies & young children are welcome but please note we don't provide any bedding or equipment for children. Free parking is available 50m away outside the church. There is a table & chairs outside. On Thursday to Sunday, we have an on-site meal delivery service for vegetarian meals using local produce. These can be ordered before 21h30. We have cats, dogs & chickens; your pet is welcome as long as he/she is happy to share the space with our animals. You must bring a bed or rug for them, they are not allowed on beds/sofa. They must not be left in the room without you.

Nature and surroundings

We live in a small rural village (300 inhabitants) about 5kms from the nearest town. We are 30kms from the Opale coast and its magnificent beaches. There is no public transport but we live in an excellent area for cycling & we can offer you a safe place to store bicycles. Bikes can be rented from our local Tourist Office. The village is quiet in a 'rural way' so there is sometimes the noise of cockerals or farm vehicles. There is a good sized garden behind your holiday cottage with trees, flowers and our vegetable garden. There are a number of quiet places to sit and/or dine. We don't use sprays and our garden is bee friendly. When we have excess, we sell our spray-free, home-grown vegetables and fruits to our guests. Your cottage faces onto our enclosed (recycled) brick courtyard. We live in the house opposite your cottage and there is 1 B&B room next door - so there will be a maximum of 4 other residents sharing the space.

We had an amazing stay. Nik and Donna are very friendly and they obviously put an enormous amount of love and care into their property; everything is very clean and immaculately finished. They also opened a (vegetarian) meal delivery service recently (the food is absolutely amazing) so we definitely recommend that as well.

The garden was incredibly lovely; very much like a fairy tale. It was a great place to relax and we had the privilege - nay, the pleasure! - to lounge around with two little chicks that happened to hatch the day we arrived. We wish we could give more stars!

We enjoyed staying at Donna and Nik's cottage. They are very friendly hosts, who know just the right balance between giving attention and leaving us alone. In addition, Donna cooks a fantastic three-course meal on request. Everything gets the attention it deserves and more.
The cottage is small, but has everything you need. The bed is excellent.The only drawback is, if like us you like to read a book on the couch for hours, the couch in this cottage is just not comfortable enough for two.

Our Farmhouse Gite was cozy, cozy and full of surprising elements such as homemade tiles and beautiful woodwork. The garden is an oasis with all kinds of nice corners and seating areas.
