Nature house in Vesqueville

A spacious, beautiful house with a lovely garden. The house is fully equipped, and the surroundings are perfect for outdoor activities. However, this house is only suitable for very quiet groups. At 8:45 p.m., a few of us were playing soccer outside. We did this in the front yard and without music because of all the notices and signs stating that noise disturbances must be avoided. Even so, the neighbor (who lives quite a distance away) came over to tell us we had to be quiet. Despite that, it didn’t spoil the fun, and we had a great time!

A few areas for improvement:
The dartboard is so old and weathered that it’s unusable.
There was no wood available to heat the hot tub.
Sending the same automated message about noise pollution more than five times is a bit much.

Een ruim, mooi huis, met hele fijne tuin. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, en de omgeving is perfect voor outdoor activiteiten. Echter is dit huis alleen geschikt voor zeer rustige/stille groepen. Om 20:45 waren een aantal van ons buiten aan het voetballen. Dit deden we in de voortuin en zonder muziek vanwege alle berichten en bordjes over dat er geen geluidsoverlast veroorzaakt mag worden. Alsnog kwam de buurvrouw (die op een flinke afstand woont) ons vertellen dat het stil moest zijn. Desondanks mocht dit de pret niet drukken en hebben we een fijne tijd gehad!

Het dartbord is zo oud en verweerd dat deze niet te gebruiken is
Er was geen hout beschikbaar om de hottub te stoken
Meer dan 5x hetzelfde automatische bericht sturen over geluidsoverlast is iets te veel van het goede

Landlord’s response: Regarding the dartboard, we’ve noted its condition and it will be replaced. As for firewood for the hot tub, it is indeed not provided. This information is listed in the guest app, which is available before your arrival. We’ve also included a list of nearby stores where you can buy firewood.
Finally, regarding the noise outside, we ask our guests to respect the peace and quiet of the neighborhood, especially in the evenings. However, we will reduce the number of automated notifications, as this can be disruptive for some guests.

Reactie van verhuurder: Wat betreft het dartbord, we hebben de staat ervan genoteerd en het zal worden vervangen. Wat betreft het brandhout voor de jacuzzi, dat wordt inderdaad niet geleverd. Deze informatie staat vermeld in de gastenapp, die beschikbaar is vóór uw aankomst. We hebben ook een lijst met winkels in de buurt waar u brandhout kunt kopen.
Tot slot, wat betreft het lawaai buiten, vragen we onze gasten om de rust en stilte van de buurt te respecteren, vooral 's avonds. We zullen echter het aantal automatische meldingen verminderen, aangezien dit voor sommige gasten storend kan zijn.

What a fantastic place!

Fantastisch fijne plek!

We were told that we’d have to pay an additional €50 if we wanted to check into the cottage at 3:00 p.m. instead of 5:00 p.m. I found that to be a really unpleasant surprise, and it meant we had to wait half an hour before the gate was opened (we arrived at 4:30 p.m.—what are you supposed to do then?). We found this to be very inappropriate and unwelcome. We were also bothered by the fact that every day we received a lengthy message asking us to be considerate of the neighbors (with threats that they had called the police before, etc.), even though we behaved as very quiet guests. This is intimidating and completely inappropriate.

We kregen te horen dat we € 50 moesten bijbetalen als we ipv 17.00 uur, al om 15.00 uur in het huisje wilden. Dat vond ik echt een onaangename verrassing en heeft er bij ons in geresulteerd dat we een half uur hebben moeten wachten voordat de poort geopend werd (we kwamen om 16.30 aan, ja wat doe je dan?). We hebben dit als zeer ongepast en onwelkom ervaren. Verder hebben we ons gestoord aan het feit dat we iedere dag een uitgebreid bericht kregen of we wel rekening wilden houden met de buren (met dreigementen dat ze wel eens de politie hadden ingeschakeld etc), terwijl wij ons als zeer rustige gasten hebben gedragen. Dit is intimiderend en volstrekt ongepast.

The house is beautifully situated in a green setting. Large garden. The interior is pleasantly spacious (large kitchen, sitting area, and loft). However, the upper floor has only one bathroom for four bedrooms, which is a bit sparse. It does indeed take a day to heat up the hot tub, but we found that to be a pleasant activity and thoroughly enjoyed the tub and sauna afterward.

If you wish to use the accommodation outside the times specified in your reservation, a small additional fee will be charged. We understand this, as it’s an extra service that allows you to stay longer. Regarding the messages about respecting the neighbors: these are **automatic reminders sent to all our guests**. They were not addressed to you personally and do not indicate that a complaint has been filed against you. However, we understand that the frequency and wording of these messages may have seemed excessive to you. We will therefore **reduce the frequency of these reminders** so that they remain informative without being intrusive to our guests.

Het huis heeft een mooie ligging in het groen. Grote tuin. Het huis is van binnen prettig ruim (grote keuken, zithoek en vide). De bovenverdieping heeft echter maar 1 wc voor 4 slaapkamers, dat is wel karig. Het duurt inderdaad wel een dag om de hot tub warm te stoken, maar wij vonden dat wel een aangename activiteit en hebben erna erg genoten van de tub en de sauna.

Reactie van verhuurder: Wat betreft vroeg aankomen: de standaard inchecktijd is 17:00 uur. Als u de accommodatie buiten de in uw reservering vermelde tijden wilt gebruiken, worden er kleine extra kosten in rekening gebracht. Wij begrijpen dit, aangezien het een extra service is waarmee u langer kunt verblijven. Wat betreft de berichten over het respecteren van de buren: dit zijn **automatische herinneringen die naar al onze gasten worden verzonden**. Ze waren niet persoonlijk aan u gericht en geven niet aan dat er een klacht tegen u is ingediend. We begrijpen echter dat de frequentie en de formulering ervan u wellicht te veel leken. We zullen daarom **de frequentie van deze herinneringen verminderen**, zodat ze informatief blijven zonder opdringerig te zijn voor onze gasten.
