The cottage was perfect; the two gas burners were enough for cooking. It was nice that they provided pots, spices, plates, etc. Since the cottage runs on solar panels and a battery, you don’t end up using your phone or the lights unnecessarily. The concept encourages you to spend more time in the here and now—I really enjoyed it. Outside, there were plenty of seating areas and spots to relax; the hammock was my favorite spot!!

Dat het huisje op zonnepanelen/batterij werkt zorgt ervoor dat je geen overtollig gebruik maakt van je telefoon of het licht. Het concept zorgt ervoor dat je meer tijd besteed in het hier en nu, ik heb er onwijs van genoten. Buiten waren er genoeg zithoeken en plekjes om te kunnen vertoeven, de hangmat was mijn favoriete plek!!

It was exactly what we needed: peace, disconnect, comfort. We spent our days reading, playing board games, hot tubbing, walking, and eating good food. We did run out of electricity at the end, but that just made it more romantic as we had to use lots of candles instead. We would love to come back during the fall or winter to take advantage of the inside fireplace and have a really cozy time.
Bieke's cottage is a haven of peace. We spent four lovely days disconnected from the world in a quiet forest that envelops you without any distractions. You get used to the highway background noise quickly, and apart from the neighbor's dogs that do bark a lot, it genuinely felt like we were completely alone in a bubble. The forest around is quite mysterious with lots to discover.
