The cabin has a simple standard, as usual for Norwegian cabins. There is a kitchen with electric furnace, a fridge, a breakfast table, and a sink without running water. Drinking water is available from the gas station at the E6, a five minute drive from the cabin. At the cabin there are jerrycans available for transporting drinking water. There is a small living room with a couch, a table and a wood stove. There is a bedroom with a two person bed and a bunk bed, both in a separate alcove but not separated from each other with a door. There is no bedding and such available at the cabin. Outside there is a shed with compost toilet, a large garden with a "bålpanne" to grill, and an outdoor shower with water from the stream (only in summer). There is a porch with garden furniture (table and chairs) which receives loads of sun during most of the day.
Nature and surroundings
The cabin is located 9 km away from Oppdal in the forest. A stream borders directly on the garden and gives a very relaxing atmosphere. The water in the stream is wonderful to cool off with at the end of a summer day. The area surrounding the cabin is ideal for summer walks. It is 30 minutes by car to Kongsvoll, where there is an entrance to Dovrefjell National Park. In Dovrefjell there is ample opportunity for hiking, to take a guided tour, and to possibly see musk oxen, moose, or reindeer. In winter there is a lot of snow and temperatures down to -20 are normal. The road to the cabin is cleared of snow in winter, but not all the way to the cabin. Therefore one has to take into account a short (100m) walk through the snow on foot from the road. In the immediate vicinity of the cabin there are many opportunities for cross-country skiing on prepared tracks, or for downhill skiing on the slopes in Oppdal.
