Nature and surroundings
Delightful and extensive hiking area- Exquisite wines and good restaurants- Much to discover from comfortable gite on the edge of romantic village. Gigondas (Vaucluse) is a charming and engaging town. Winding streets, a clattering fountain, the village square under the plane trees. The village (600 inhabitants) lies at the foot of a vast and breathtaking mountainous area: the Dentelles de Montmirail, a paradise for hikers. The Mont Ventoux is about a 25-minute drive away. A little further away are places like Gordes or St. Rémy de Provence, the Gorges du Verdon and the Camarque. There are interesting cities to discover like Avignon, Orange, Arles and Aix-en-Provence. And restored medieval villages like Séguret and Les Baroux. In Vaison-la-Romaine and Carpentras there are weekly markets with beautiful local products. The Mediterranean Sea is an hour and a half away by car. There is also a lot to experience culturally.

We left the cottage for a nearby hotel after 3 hours of arrival and did not take advantage of the rental. The cottage was simply but stylishly furnished and completely in accordance with the description and photos. Very nice, beds neatly made and toilet and kitchen clean. But it smelled musty and it was very dusty. We each noticed this within a few hours of our arrival. We had not realized that an accommodation that is old can also be so musty dusty. Worn rug and at the sight of the couch you already spontaneously got itchy. Given friends' positive experiences with Nature Cottage, this just didn't occur to us. Sin of the double costs we made those days. Response landlord: Thank you for your message and your note, we're sorry you decided to cancel your stay. The house had not been opened up/rented for 2 weeks and the heatwave and the following storm may have caused some smells and dust, we're sorry about that. We now have guests staying that are happy. It's an old family home right in the heart of Provence, we have very low prices, we have it cleaned by a professional and handled by a concierge. Also, we are buying new furniture to improve its charms and trying to arrange as time goes by. Thank you
